I have a large (58" long x 25" deep) built-in desk in my kitchen. The kitchen has white cabinets (the desk is also white with a white Corian top). The style of the kitchen is cottage. The colors are yellow, red, and blue. The floor is wood. What can I put on the desk to decorate it? I have my computer in another room. Above the desk, there is an open shelf. I have some small items on the desk, but they look sort of lost.

Your desk space sounds like a wonderful opportunity to add organization and functionality to your kitchen. Start by asking yourself how you want to use this space. Do you need a place to write to-do lists, organize the household, pay bills, etc.? Do you want to consider moving your computer to the kitchen so that you are not running from one room to the other to accomplish tasks?
